Opal was a brand new restaurant that was struggling to manage all of the
aspects required to not only run the restaurant's daily operations but
to market the restaurant effectively and on a reasonable budget. To complicate
matters, their previous website designer was not making crucial updates
in a timely manner. This became increasingly frustrating for the owners
until they decided to seek out a new company.
Through our collaboration with the owners it became apparent that not
only would they want updates, they wanted to scrap the previous website
design entirely. They felt that the look of the website did not adequately highlight the quality of the food and the ambiance and lacked
a sense of strategy needed to drive customers to their restaurant. After
a long collaboration we developed a plan that would meet their needs on
their budget.
Our Solutions:
Website Design
We scrapped the website design completely. We developed a strategy that
would leverage the artistic side of their food and ambiance as well as
showcased their awards and other compelling assets. Each and every page
uses professional photography to intrigue guests and create "capability"
as well as highlights upcoming events and specials.
Search Engine Optimization
The previous website provided no Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy.
Each and every page of the website serves as a tool to attract customers
through "Organic Search" not "Pay Per Click". It is important for website
to attract potential customers naturally from search engines. Pay-per-click
programs are extremely expensive often costing $500 - $5000 per month
for a single key word or phrase and are only effective 15% of the time.
Organic searches are effective 66% of the time and can be run for a lot
less. When combined with a strong search-friendly architecture you will
find that the results can be astounding.
Professional Photography
The previous website had some pretty good photography. The only problem
was there was not enough and we did not have the originals to work with.
We provided a complete package of photography solutions that would give
Opal a wide range of marketable shots including, food, drink, wine, decor,
and personnel. This package would serve as a solid foundation for and
meet all of their marketing needs.
Email Marketing
Opal had a very limited budget for marketing. Print marketing is extremely
costly, would have limited effectiveness, and they lacked the funds needed
to sustain a continuous campaign in order to be most effective. Our email
marketing solution provides the ability to continually build their client-base,
track who opened and/or passed on their emails, and how effective the
program is. Best of all their email program only costs them $20/month
to maintain.
Our Results:
Traffic
is up 900%
Opal's Website traffic has skyrocketed. They went from not being found
until the 4th page to getting first page ranking for all combinations
of their name as well as "Seattle Fine Dining", "Seattle Fine Dining Restaurants",
"Seattle Fine Dining Reservations", and many more.
Their email list is growing
Their customers are coming in. Although we do not have metrics to measure
how many more customers are coming in, we do know we are reaching and
attracting customers. Even if one customer comes is and spends money,
it pays for the entire month's cost of the email campaign.
Customers and the Owners love the site!
According to the owners many of their friends and customers have commented
on how easy the site is to use and how it better highlights the cusines
and ambiance of Opal. The best indication of success is the fact that
we have been asked to develop and manage their other restaurant's marketing
and website creation and design.
